Zámek Stránov

Stránov Castle is a unique historical monument with a rich history and interesting architectural style, located 7 km from Mladá Boleslav. In 1917, it was purchased by Josef Šimonek, president of Škoda Works, whose family lived here until nationalization in 1950. Subsequently, the castle was used as an orphanage. Visitors can explore the castle interiors, which include a hall with a Gothic chapel, collections of butterflies, beetles, historical prams and dolls, and reconstructed rooms with replicas of historical furniture. The tour also includes a Gothic tower with a viewpoint. For full-day cultural programs, free access to the tower, arcades, and outer bailey is provided, often with guided tours of the exhibition.
